A Story About A Story
I’m excited — and a little nervous — to share something new with you.
Over the past year, I’ve been quietly working on a new direction in my creative life. Photography has always been a source of awe and healing for me… but recently, I’ve felt called to go deeper — into filmmaking, storytelling, and the emotional side of what it means to be alive, to age, and to rediscover purpose.
Last month, during a storytelling workshop in Moab with photographer Chris Burkard, something shifted.
I arrived simply hoping to learn how to shoot better video…
and left with an entirely new understanding of my own story.
The result of that experience is my first short film, now live on YouTube:
👉 Watch: A Story About a Story (Short Film)
It’s only a few minutes long, but it represents a much bigger journey — one that blends everything I’ve learned as a physician, a photographer, a father, and a human being standing at 65 and wondering what the next chapter might look like.
If you choose to watch it, I hope it touches you in some small way — maybe inspires you to take a risk, face a fear, or reflect on the stories you want to leave behind.
And most of all, I hope you’ll continue to join me as I explore this new field of cinematography, visual storytelling, and the healing power of awe.
This is just the beginning…….
