The Scottish Highlands

In February of 2025 I embarked on an  awe-inspiring journey through the majestic landscapes of the Scottish Highlands along with Three great photographers and friends @NigelDanson ,   @rhiannonlawler7313 , and @RickBebbington   …This wasn’t just a trip—but a transformative experience, blending the art of photography with profound self-discovery and healing.

During this breathtaking expedition, I explored not only the Highlands but also the depths of photography as a craft, honing in my skills and learning from the best but also delving into the powerful effects of awe on our mental and physical well-being—especially vital today….

In a world filled with challenges, this journey reaffirmed for me  photography’s power to heal both body and mind.

Special thanks to Nigel Danson for inviting me on this incredible journey and  giving me the confidence to finally say " I am a Photographer" and to Rhiannon Lawler and Rick Bebbington for their company , support, guidance ,and great laughs

As we continued our journey through the Scottish Highlands I continued to push my limits and take further steps out of my comfort zone. Hiking up to the Needle in the Quairaing on the Isle of Skye  was a technically difficult climb yet I persevered and boy the view at the top was AMAZING . In my YouTube Scottish Highlands series  Nigel Danson, Rhiannon Lawler and I make our way through some of the most scenic places on the Isle of Skye. My photography takes on new meaning as I learn to slow down and savor the scene, enjoying the moment, and in doing so improve my own compositional skills

We continued on to the amazing Isle of Harris where I get my first glimpse of the beach at Luskentyre and well all I can say is this was perhaps one of the most beautiful, photogenic, places in the world.

Through my photographs and video footage I take you along on this journey which not only solidifies my joy of photography but also expands my photography skills and proves once again that getting outside  with a camera , pushing my limits , and experiencing awe is one of the best ways to bring me personal joy , reduce anxiety and depression ... an important lesson for  me as well as so many of us living through some very hard times today ...

I concluded my awe-inspiring Scottish Highlands journey with Nigel on the Isle of Harris in the outer Hebrides…. Here I come into my own, embracing my abilities amidst the Isle of Harris's majestic beauty. Through breathtaking compositions and candid reflections, I discovered my own  my personal growth, mastery over the challenging elements, and deeper self-awareness. My last week in Scotland  offered inspiration and insight into harnessing photography's power to combat anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress. Here  I Dive straight into an amazing visual symphony and well come away with a new respect for  my place as a Photographer and person.

A special thanks to Nigel Danson for inviting me on this incredible trip, for his mentorship , and passion for this amazing craft we call photography.

Thanks as well  to Rhiannon Lawler and Rick Bebbington for their camaraderie, support , and great laughs ….

And last but not least , thanks to my wife Julianne and  all my kids for supporting me on this crazy journey …

Till next time ….
