Mongolia Expedition
I’ve just returned from one of the most incredible adventures of my life—a photography expedition through Mongolia
This adventure began unexpectedly. My wife and I had a gap in our vacation plans (a story for another day!), and our dear friend Rachel Ross—astrophotographer extraordinaire—invited us along on a photography expedition. Honestly, Mongolia wasn’t on my bucket list. But when Rachel asks, you don’t say no.
Together with Rachel and the amazing Kah Wai Lin—photographer, producer, and global cultural conservationist—we journeyed across Mongolia. From the capital Ulaanbaatar to the vast steppes of Sükhbaatar in search of the elusive Pallas’s Cat, we lived in Gers under Bortle 1 night skies, watching sunrises that took our breath away.
But that was just the beginning. In the Gobi Desert, I stepped far outside my comfort zone—photographing camel herders in full traditional dress, guided by Kah Wai’s production mastery. And in the far west, we stood with Kazakh Eagle Hunters, experiencing a UNESCO-protected tradition that connects past and present in one of the most remote places on Earth.
On my Youtube channel I take you deeper into Mongolia’s history, people, and landscapes—including the legacy of Genghis Khan and how his philosophy of religious freedom and rule of law still echoes in our world today. So Please Check It Out!
I truly believe photography and travel are more than hobbies—they are pathways to wellness, healing, and understanding. By stepping into someone else’s world, we realize how connected we really are. And maybe that’s exactly what the world needs right now.
If this resonates with you, I’d love for you to subscribe to my channel and ring the bell so you’ll be the first to know when I release the next chapters of this incredible journey.
Until then…
Keep chasing the light.
Keep chasing the wonder.
And always, keep chasing the awe.
Till next time,
Best
